Heeheehee. And you're absolutely right: the A story here is Michael's redemption, the B story is David/Michael. Michael ain't redeemed until he realizes that he has fucked David over to the point that David is absolutely within his rights to never want to see Michael again, and Michael accepts that. For a thoroughly secular person, I write a hell of a lot of religious themes, which means that I believe in grace, but I also believe that a person has to seriously and soberly face and accept the demands of atonement before grace becomes possible.
