I second the refreshing-every-minute thing. No joke.
This story is addictive because it's so well-written and real. Too little David in this chapter although I felt really sad for the resignation in his voice...trying for happiness and having it thrown in his face. As for Michael, cleaning up your mess after takes more work than what he's doing. He'll realize that soon enough.
And the near-alcoholism (maybe I'm mincing words there) needs to be dealt w/ too and that has to come from within him, not because of anyone else. The demons of his past need to be challenged.
And poor David. :( I eagerly await the concluding chapters of this story AND your vampire!AU. Wanna give us anymore details/clues/teases?
